Product Overview
The Activated Carbon Pleated Air Filter is a composite replacement filter designed for air purifiers, fresh air units and indoor ventilation equipment.
It combines two different filter layers in one frame. The white pleated media is used for particle filtration, such as dust, lint, hair and airborne particles. The black honeycomb activated carbon layer is used for odor reduction and adsorption of certain gaseous contaminants, depending on the carbon type, carbon loading and actual working condition.
This product is not a kitchen grease filter, not an oil fume filter and not a washable metal filter. It is mainly used in indoor air purification equipment where both particle filtration and odor control are required.

Two-Layer Composite Structure

This filter is built with a pleated particle filter layer and an activated carbon layer.
Pleated Particle Filter Layer
The pleated layer increases the effective filter area inside a limited frame size. It is used to capture airborne particles before or after the carbon layer, depending on the equipment airflow design.
The actual filtration grade depends on the selected media and test data. It should not be called HEPA unless the media and finished filter have matching test reports.
Honeycomb Activated Carbon Layer
The activated carbon layer is usually designed in a honeycomb structure. This structure holds carbon material inside many small cells and allows air to pass through the carbon section.
Activated carbon is mainly used for odor reduction and adsorption of certain gas-phase pollutants. Its performance depends on carbon type, carbon weight, contact time, airflow, humidity, pollutant concentration and replacement cycle.
In an air purifier or fresh air unit, the filter usually works as part of a multi-stage filtration path.
A typical airflow path may be:
Pre-filter → pleated particle filter → activated carbon layer → clean air outlet
Some equipment may place the carbon layer before the pleated layer, so the airflow direction should be checked according to the equipment design.
The pleated layer handles particle filtration. The carbon layer handles odor reduction and gas-phase adsorption. These two functions are different, so the filter should be selected according to both particle filtration requirement and odor control requirement.

No fixed efficiency, HEPA grade, formaldehyde removal rate or VOC removal rate should be written unless there is a matching test report for the exact filter model.
Important Notes on Performance Claims
This product can help reduce dust and certain odors in indoor air systems, but performance should be described carefully.
Please do not treat all activated carbon pleated filters as the same. Carbon adsorption depends on carbon type, carbon amount, airflow speed, humidity, pollutant concentration and replacement timing.
Please do not call the pleated layer HEPA unless the finished filter has a matching test report. A pleated appearance does not automatically mean HEPA performance.
Please do not write a fixed formaldehyde removal rate, VOC removal rate or sterilization rate without testing under a defined standard and condition.
For engineering or OEM projects, test data should be confirmed before quotation if the buyer has a required performance target.
Replacement and Maintenance
The filter should be replaced according to equipment instructions, indoor air quality, dust loading and odor condition.
A filter may need replacement when:
Airflow becomes weaker
The filter is visibly loaded with dust
Odor reduction becomes less effective
The carbon layer has been used for a long time
The frame is damaged or no longer fits securely
The equipment shows a filter replacement reminder
This product is normally designed as a replaceable filter cartridge, not a washable filter. Washing may damage the pleated media, reduce carbon adsorption performance or deform the frame.
