What These Filters Are Designed For

These pleated air conditioner filters are built for AC and furnace systems that need more than a basic dust screen. We make them for buyers who want MERV 11–14 performance in standard 1", 2" and 4" formats, so their end users can capture more fine dust, pet dander and allergens without over-stressing the fan.

Most of these filters end up in:

Residential split systems and furnaces

Small offices, shops and clinics

Light commercial rooftop units and packaged ACs

If you sell into markets where "MERV 11/13" is a common requirement, this is the product line we normally recommend.

How We Build the Filter

We designed the structure based on the "suitable for AC market usage habits" approach, rather than simply from an industrial AHU perspective.

Media

Electrostatic synthetic fiber as the default choice, with a graded structure.

Optional fiberglass media for markets where customers are accustomed to glass type filters.

Moisture-resistant finish to avoid sagging in high humidity.

Frame

Reinforced cardboard frame for most residential and light commercial uses.

Optional galvanized steel or plastic frames for damp environments or high handling frequency.

Pleat pack

Uniform pleat spacing with internal support to maintain shape.

Bonded to the frame on all sides to reduce bypass.

Available in 1", 2" and 4" depths, balancing media area and pressure drop.

Picking the Right MERV & Thickness

MERV 11 vs. MERV 13 vs. MERV 14

Residential

MERV 11 vs MERV 13 vs MERV 14

MERV 11:
Sufficient for most residential and light commercial applications, it's a "safe and reliable" choice, and is compatible with older units.

Retail

MERV 13:
More suitable for allergy sufferers, pet owners, small clinics, dental clinics, etc., with a stronger ability to capture 1–3 μm particles.

Data Centers

MERV 14:
Used in special locations (such as small laboratories and certain high-end residential projects), attention should be paid to the fan capacity and pressure drop of the unit.

How to choose between 1", 2", and 4" filter thicknesses?

1": Requires frequent replacement, but is compatible with most residential filter racks;

2": Offers lower pressure drop and longer lifespan at the same airflow, suitable for units that can accommodate thicker filters;

4": Commonly found in larger rooftop units or special housings, and more often used in light commercial projects.

When we prepare project specifications, we generally provide recommendations based on the common unit types in your target market, fan capacity, and customer expectations regarding replacement cycles, rather than simply saying "the higher the rating, the better."

Typical Use in Light Commercial Applications

In light commercial projects, pleated filters are often used in small office buildings, retail stores, clinics, schools, hospitality spaces, and similar environments where the HVAC system needs more reliable day-to-day filtration without moving into a more complex industrial filter setup.

For these buyers, the concern is usually not only filtration grade, but also stock management, service interval planning, and replacement simplicity. A pleated filter works well here because it is easier to standardize across multiple units and easier for service teams to replace during routine maintenance visits. For facilities with multiple packaged units or split systems, having a consistent pleated filter format helps reduce confusion during servicing and reorder.

Size Range & Channel Packaging

To accommodate different sales channels, we have differentiated the sizes and packaging methods.

Standard Imperial Sizes (Examples)

14×20×1, 14×25×1

16×20×1, 16×25×1

20×20×1, 20×25×1, 20×30×1

Corresponding 2" / 4" thickness versions are also available.

If needed, other sizes can be added based on the customs of your main sales country (e.g., 12×24×1, 18×18×1, etc.).

Packaging Methods

Retail / E-commerce:

Color box packaging or shrink-wrap packaging, 4–12 pieces per box, with multi-language instructions and installation diagrams included.

Engineering / Distributors:

Simplified kraft paper box packaging, sorted by size, generally 12–24 pieces per box.

OEM:

Customized outer boxes and label formats according to your brand's box markings, barcodes, batch numbers, etc.

We will finalize the packaging plan with you when confirming the samples to ensure a smooth process from the factory to the warehouse and ultimately to the end customer.

Working with Us on AC & Furnace Filter Programs

Unlike many domestic factories that produce "generic air filters," we focus on maintaining consistent specifications and stable supply for long-term partnerships.

We will create a fixed specification sheet based on your selected MERV rating, size list, and packaging requirements, and subsequent orders will be processed according to the same standard;

For e-commerce and retail customers, we can arrange rolling production based on seasonal demand to reduce the risk of stockouts;

If you have other product lines (such as bag filters, HEPA filters, etc.), we can also mix and match shipments, allowing you to include both household AC filters and industrial filters in one container.

Simply provide us with the dimensions, MERV rating, and target market of your current filters, and we can conduct an initial matching process before discussing samples and trial orders.

FAQ

Q: Are these filters suitable for all home air conditioners and furnaces?

A: They are compatible with most common residential/light commercial units in North America and the Middle East, provided the filter compartment dimensions match. For very old units or those with low static pressure, we recommend using MERV 11 filters or filters with a thickness of 2 inches or less.

Q: How often is it recommended to replace it?

A: In typical residential settings, 1" thick filters are usually replaced every 2–3 months; 2" thick filters can last longer. For environments with many pets or high levels of dust, it is recommended to adjust the replacement frequency based on pressure differential or by checking the filter monthly..

Q:Will a high MERV rating significantly reduce airflow?

A: If the fan capacity is limited, directly jumping from a very low level to MERV 14 might indeed cause pressure drop problems. Therefore, we will provide a reasonable combination based on your unit's operating conditions and target market, such as MERV 11/13 with different thicknesses, instead of simply pursuing the highest rating.
