Techflow Bag Filter – Industrial Dust Collector Bags for Fine & Coarse Dust
When people ask me what our Techflow Bag Filter is designed for,i usually jist say: “It’s the fabric heart of your dust collector.” These filter bags are built for industrial baghouse systems in steel plants, cement mills, boilers, foundries, chemical lines and many other dusty processes. Depending on the media and finish you choose, a Techflow bag filter can be tuned anywhere from high-efficiency coarse dust collection up to very fine dust control with >99.9% capture for the target particle range.

Where Techflow Bag Filters Are Used

We see Techflow bags running in:

Cement & minerals – kiln/raw mill filters, clinker cooler dust, cement grinding

Steel & foundry – electric arc furnace (EAF), ladle metallurgy, sand handling

Power & biomass – coal-fired boilers, biomass boilers, process gas filters

Chemical & food – dryers, mixers, pneumatic conveying, packaging lines

In all these systems, the baghouse has to pull dust out of a hot, dusty gas stream before it reaches the stack or returns to the process. The Techflow Bag Filter is the part that actually separates the dust from the gas

Filter Media Families & Temperature Ranges

What makes one bag filter different from another is mostly the needle felt and any membrane or surface treatment. We normally work with a few main media families:

Polyester (PE)

For moderate temperatures and "general-purpose" dusts

Common in woodworking, many cement applications, grain and feed

Typical continuous temperature up to ~130°C (depending on finish and design)

Aramid / Meta-aramid (NOMEX® type)

Better temperature resistance than polyester

Used in asphalt, some boiler and high-temperature dust streams

Suitable for roughly 180–200°C continuous operation

PPS (polyphenylene sulfide)

Handles acid gases and higher temperatures in coal boiler and some chemical systems

Good chemical resistance in SOx/NOx environments

Fibreglass & P84 blends, PTFE fibres

For more demanding high-temperature and chemically aggressive conditions

Often used with surface coatings or PTFE membranes

On top of the base felt, we can add PTFE membrane or special surface treatments if you need lower emissions or easier dust release.

Filtration Efficiency – From Heavy Dust to Very Fine Particles

The achievable efficiency range of baghouse dust collectors is actually quite wide under different operating conditions. When selecting a model, we distinguish between several typical scenarios:

Standard Needle Felt Bags

For many cement, steel and general industrial dusts:

●With a well-formed dust cake and a stable baghouse, overall collection efficiency commonly reaches > 95–99% for the design particle size range.

●These bags are often optimised for a mix of performance and cost, not absolute ultra-fine capture.

Fine Dust & Stricter Emission Limits

Where emission limits are tighter or the dust is particularly fine:

●Using finer fibres, calendered surfaces and improved finishes, Techflow bag filters can be configured to reach ~99–99.9% removal for targeted particle fractions (for example in the 1–5 μm range) under correct operating conditions.

●This is common in modern cement plants, many boiler applications and upgraded baghouses in heavy industry.

PTFE-Membrane Options

For the most demanding dust control tasks:

●Adding a PTFE membrane on the surface of the needle felt makes the fabric behave more like a surface filter.

In such configurations, baghouse emission levels with >99.9% capture for fine dust are achievable when the system is correctly sized and commissioned, often approaching the performance range of high-efficiency cartridge filters for the design dust.

●In practice, the real-world performance depends on dust characteristics, gas flow, air-to-cloth ratio and cleaning settings. When you share your process data, we can suggest a Techflow Bag Filter configuration that hits the efficiency level your project needs without driving pressure drop out of range.

How Techflow Bags Interface with Your Cages & Hardware

An often overlooked point: No matter how good the filter bag itself is, if it is not compatible with the cage, perforated plate, or venturi, its effectiveness will be greatly reduced.

When we supply Techflow bag filters, we pay attention to:

Top construction – snap-band, cuff, ring or other top designs to match your tube sheet openings.

Bottom style – sewn flat, disc bottom, reinforced or wear patches for abrasive dust.

Length and diameter – matched to your cage design and baghouse geometry so the bag hangs correctly and cleans properly.

Seam construction – stitched for strength and dust-tightness at operating temperature.

If you send us your existing bag and cage details or drawings, we can build drop-in replacement bags under the Techflow line, keeping all the critical interface dimensions consistent.

Selection Checklist – What We Need from You

When someone says "I need Techflow bag filters for my dust collector", I usually come back with a short list of questions. Having these answers speeds things up a lot:

Process industry and dust type (cement, fly ash, lime, metal fume, chemical powder, etc.)

Gas temperature (continuous and peaks) and approximate moisture levels

Existing bag size (diameter, length) and cage type

Current filter media if you are replacing an existing specification

Target emission limit or efficiency requirement, if known

Any known issues: high abrasion, sticking dust, corrosion, frequent bag failures

With that, we can propose a Techflow Bag Filter media and construction that fit your process rather than a generic one-size-fits-all design.

FAQ

Q: How does a Techflow bag differ from a standard filter bag?

A: Techflow Bag Filter is our industrial line that focuses on matching media, construction and lifetime to demanding dust collection duties. Compared to generic bags, we put more emphasis on media selection, seam design and how the bag will behave under your actual air-to-cloth ratio and cleaning regime..

Q: What filtration efficiency can I expect from these bags?

A: With the right media and operating conditions, Techflow bags can be configured from high-efficiency coarse dust collection up to >99.9% capture for the targeted fine dust fraction, especially when using fine-fibre felts or PTFE membranes. We always relate the efficiency to your dust type and emission target rather than quoting a single number without context.

Q: How long will the bags last in my plant?

A: In many cement, steel and boiler installations, a 1–3 year service life is a realistic expectation if the system is well designed and maintained. Very harsh conditions can shorten that; mild, low-load service can extend it. We're happy to look at your process data and share what similar users are experiencing
